Slow-release Diffusers: Have you heard of them? 🐢

Can you imagine an oil diffuser that doesn't need you to refill or clean it every few days? Or a diffuser that doesn't cause over-concentration in your room, making you nauseous?
✨ Kiyora ✨ is our slow-release diffuser that has been designed from an eco-friendly, porous mineral-based stone - made for slow aromatherapy. Electronic diffusers are cool and all, but sometimes the last thing I want to do at the end of a long day day is have to clean or refill my diffuser. Also, it can be a little too strong for smaller areas i want to use it (like my bedside table).
Our diffuser Kiyora was engineered with a mineral-based blend of high breathability so that when you drop your Kiyora essential oil blends onto it, it will get slowly absorbed, then released for up to 5 days (depending on how many drops you place and how big your room is).
5 Reasons Why Kiyora > Electronic Diffusers:
🐢 Doesn't require power or water:
Kiyora is a natural oil diffuser that doesn't require electricity or water to operate. It's designed with a mineral-fused concrete blend which have several hairline-like porous channels. This allow our Kiyora oil blends to flow in and out naturally and freely, emitting gentle aromatherapy that isn't forced or too over-concentrated for your senses.
🐢 Designed for targeted spaces:
Our slow-release oil diffuser works best with our high quality, aromatherapist crafted blends. Essential oils can be a sedative or stimulant, OR a combination of both but weighing towards one more. An example of one of our sedative blends is the Out of Office. We recommend blending this sweet woody goodness by your bedside table 30 minutes before sleeping. Or if you're working from home, our Work In Progress blend is a stimulant blend, that aims to re-energise you for focus. Use this at your work desk 30 minutes before sitting down (or a little hack is doing it the night before, then closing the door to the room and letting it diffuse 😌).
Electronic diffusers will pump aromatherapy through your room at a constant pace, normally running dry of the oil not long after, and just pumping vaporised water into your air.
🐢 No over-concentration (and a lid for if it does get too much!)
Most electronic diffusers will generate forced vaporisation of oils through to your whole room, while our slow-release diffuser will allow the natural flow of aromatherapy that is much softer on your senses and nervous system.
Our Kiyora diffuser has been sculpted to include a ripple-style layer to maximise surface area during this natural diffusing. This means our aromatherapy will diffuse with a much slower and gentle effect in the area. We've also designed a lid that you can pop on if you feel you've accidentally put too many drops and it's a little strong for you (I'm definitely guilty of this ☝🏻)
🐢 Low maintenance
If you own an electronic oil diffuser, you'll know that you need to change the water or rinse your machine every 3-4 days to keep the mould, bacteria and smell away!
Kiyora was created with this in mind (and also because I was lazy to clean my electronic diffuser so often!). As our diffuser is created porous, the essential oils can naturally flow in and flow out over a few days. There's no water required to operate our diffuser, hence you don't need to rinse or clean anything so frequently.
All of our essential oil blends contain natural cleaning properties, so if you need to 'clean' a scent out, simply allow it to air out for 5-7 days and refrain from adding any additional oil during this time. If you do need to clean any residue, you can wipe it down with a damp microfibre cloth, then allow the diffuser to complete air dry over 48 hours. The pores are the bread and butter of our diffuser so we wouldn't recommend using any harsh detergents (see our FAQ for cleaning instructions).
🐢 No excess moisture
For those of you that live in a more tropical area with high humidity, it can feel super uncomfortable to have an electronic diffuser pumping continuous water into your air! Excess moisture in smaller rooms or areas near walls can also cause damage to your plaster or lead to mould when humidity is too high.
Our Kiyora Diffusers don't use electricity or water - so there you have it. No excess water being pumped into your space that might cause excess humidity and discomfort when you're trying to wind down and relax.

Hi! Woohoo to my first blog post! I would say I'm nervous, but I've been working on Kiyora for more than a year now and honestly the scariest part was getting started (and dropping your monies on the inventory - ouch to my savings).
I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting Kiyora in their own shape and form! It's been an incredible early journey and honestly the encouraging support from friends and family (and also from those I haven't spoken to in ages - I see you!) have enabled me to get this far
I've wanted to open an online business since forever but I found myself in a constant cycle of "it's too much work" or "it's too expensive" or "I don't know what I'd sell". It's crazy thinking back about when I tossed and turned over several different products - I'd get super motivated about them, want to work on it, then give up before I've even started.I felt like the only way to naturally commit to opening a business (or anything new, really) is… *drumroll*….."to find something you're passionate about".
Lol I know - it's the most cliché thing ever, but it's so true. I was finally able to commit to Kiyora because I stopped getting so fixated on the product, but focused on how I could express myself and connect with people experiencing the same journey in self-care industry.
In the lead up to Kiyora, I was going through some mental challenges around my whole career, doing meaningful things, my longer term goals, being happy and all that stuff. I guess people call it a mid-life crisis? I swear I've had a few mid life crises from being burnt out before but I had a really big one that stuck around from 2021-2024. I'll probably write more about that in a separate post. But in short, I started Kiyora as a space to express myself, share experiences, and build a community with people who feel the same—those with tired souls, constantly overstimulated, caught up in the hustle, and burnt out from trying to be a 'hard worker'. It’s for those who need a reminder to slow down.
So, thanks for reading this far and supporting the start of Kiyora! I intend to publish a range of posts in this blog including personal 'from the founder' journey snippets as well as selfcare and wellbeing discussion posts.x CL
