Our oils naturally keep the diffuser fresh—simply let it air out for a few days to clear the pores.
If needed, gently cleanse with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then rinse and allow it to fully air dry in the sun before reuse.
Avoid harsh detergents or scrubbing.

1. Choose a target space
Our diffuser was designed for smaller, intentional, focused spaces like your bedside table for winding down, or your study desk for focus.

Place your essential oils directly all over the diffuser.
A reference guide for a 3x2 room:
- 1-3 days: 3-5 drops
- Up to 6 days: 6-8 drops

3. Allow natural diffusing
Let it do it’s thing - it can take up to 15 minutes to evenly circulate your space depending on your room size.
Tip if you're going to WFH the next morning, add a few drops in your diffuser, leave at your office desk and close the door overnight.

Kiyora Diffusers have been designed with highly porous concrete that is safe, sustainable and toxic-free.
Our diffuser is not only larger than other passive diffusers, but also has a larger surface area with the ripple design to optimise natural diffusing.
Our essential oils contain natural self-cleansing compounds, so you rarely need to clean your diffuser - just allow ample time for airing out (5-7 days will clear the pores).
If you use non-Kiyora essential oil blends or you need to clean any residual scents on the diffuser, clean as the following:
1. Soak the diffuser with a drop of gentle dishwashing detergent
2. Fill the rest of the diffuser with warm water (not hot).
3. Let it sit for 10 minutes
4. Empty the solution
5. Rinse under running warm water
6. Allow complete air dry over a few days before use again.
Note: Natural light staining may occur due to the natural pigments of the essential oils. Most of the staining clears once aired out.

The short answer is yes, absolutely!
We would recommend two things: (1) only using pure, high quality essential oils and (2) allowing a few days between changing oils to allow the aroma to fully air out.
Using low-quality essential oil brands that contain synthetics or fragrances can leave heavy residue and may even damage the pores of the diffuser over time.
Everyone has a different sensitivity to smells. To findyoursweet spot, take into account factors like whether you live with someone with high sensitivity and what your preference of scents are (mild or concentrated).
Something to be mindful of with our slow-release diffusers is that the scent will not be sharp immediately as it takes time for the oil to travel through the pores through absorption, then released. So try and refrain from dropping excess drops if you can't smell the scent straight away. You can always add more drops later if it's not strong enough.
For reference only based on a 3x2 room:
3-4 drops: up to 3 days
4-6 drops: up to 5 days
6-8 drops - up to 8 days
Tip:If you've accidentally put too many drops and it's too concentrated for you, pop the diffuser at the bottom of a closet to naturally remove musk from your clothes. Essential oils contain natural antibacterial and cleansing properties.
Alternatively, you can use the lid to partially close the diffuser to reduce the strength of diffusing.
